Duo is Google’s new video calling app that was originally announced last year alongside Allo, Google’s new messenger platform. Duo had originally launched with only support for video calling, but a couple of months ago Google started to allow audio-only calls to be made using the app.

Now it seems that Google is looking integrate Duo more into Android as according to a report from Android Police, it seems that some users are receiving prompts from Duo asking them if they’d like to merge Duo’s call history with your phone. Basically what this means is that users will be able to see their Duo calls in their phone’s history, alongside regular calls.

However it seems that despite the prompt, the feature isn’t fully functioning yet but it seems like that is the direction that Google appears to be heading. It is possible that maybe with this, Google could soon make Duo capable of making regular phone calls as well, thus doing away with the need for separate apps.

Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but this consolidation of information isn’t exactly new. iOS users are probably familiar with this by now where their phone’s call history includes regular calls as well as calls made by other apps, such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger, and so on.
