Samsung has made no secret of the fact that it’s going to release a new Galaxy Note phablet later this year. Details about the new handset are slim at this point in time but if a new report is to be believed, the Galaxy Note 8 is going to have an Infinity Display much like the Galaxy S8. Then again, it wouldn’t be surprising if it did.

Samsung introduced the Infinity Display with the Galaxy S8. It’s a dual edge curved display with an impressive screen to body ratio as the bezels are minimal and there’s more space for the display to be stretched for maximum screen real estate.

The report claims that Samsung is testing prototypes of the Galaxy Note 8 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Infinity Display. If the next-generation phablet does have an Infinity Display, this means that it’s going to ditch the physical home button as well like the Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy Note 8’s Infinity Display is also said to have the same 18:5:9 aspect ratio as the Galaxy S8. No word as yet on the size so it’s unclear if the Galaxy Note 8 will have a display panel that’s over 6 inches in size.

It’s unclear what the resolution is going to be, we’ve heard rumors about 4K resolution for the Galaxy Note 8, but that’s just speculation at this point in time.

Samsung is due to launch the Galaxy Note 8 this fall.
