It is not a secret that Apple’s iPhone has influenced a lot of smartphone makers when it comes to introducing features and design, and we guess the opposite can also be said where Apple does “copy” design and features found on other devices and software. However could Apple’s influence be so great to prompt smartphone makers to launch new variants?

According to a report out of Korea via The Investor, it seems that both Samsung and LG are apparently working on variants of their current flagship handsets. With Samsung, the company is rumored to launch new color variants for its Galaxy S8 lineup, one of which is apparently “Rose Gold”.

As for LG, apparently the company is planning on launching new LG G6 versions with different storage capacities in 32GB and 128GB options. Now it could be coincidental since introducing new color options and storage options aren’t exactly out of place for either company, although it is possible that the new color/storage options could be a way for these companies to keep their devices relevant and maybe attract new customers in the face of the iPhone 8.

Analysts are predicting that Apple will be experiencing a super cycle in terms of sales with the iPhone 8 and that it could beat out the iPhone 6’s sales. So far sales of Apple’s iPhones have been on the decline but many believe that the iPhone 8 could turn things around.
