Have you ever gone to someone’s house or office and asked to connect to their WiFi, but they can’t remember their password, or how it can sometimes be a bit inconvenient for them to type it into your device, or how it can be a bit awkward for them to spell it out for you? With iOS 11, sharing home or office WiFi will be a seamless and painless process.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, it has been noticed that iOS 11 comes with a WiFi sharing feature that acts similar to how AirPods pair with an iOS device. Basically as long as one iOS device is connected to the WiFi, bringing another device that isn’t connected nearby will bring up a prompt indicating that the device is trying to connect to your network and if you are willing to let it. Once that’s done the other device will be connected.

There is a catch and that is that the main device needs to run on iOS 11 and that the other device also needs to run on iOS 11. According to one of the screenshots, it mentions Mac computers as well so presumably users will also need to run the latest version of macOS for it to work for Mac computers.

It’s not a terribly groundbreaking feature, but it is a rather convenient one so if you’re surrounded by iOS and Mac devices and if your friends are also using similar products, then no doubt this will come in handy.
