In the gaming community, there is a bit of dispute between gamers who prefer wired and gamers who prefer wireless peripherals. Just like with audio equipment, some believe that wired connection allows for faster response time versus wireless, although we guess whether or not these alleged differences are very noticeable is a different story.

Now if you’re a proponent of the wireless peripheral, then you might be interested to learn about Logitech’s latest announcement which comes in the form of new wireless technology called Powerplay, and also a bunch of new wireless gaming accessories. Starting with Powerplay, this is Logitech’s answer to wireless connectivity as what it does is it creates an electromagnetic field over a large surface area.

In turn what this does is that it helps juice up wireless devices, such as gaming mice, which is what Logitech has done with a new mouse mat that uses the Powerplay technology. Basically the entire mouse mat becomes a charging surface for your mouse, meaning that you’ll never have to worry about charging your wireless mouse again.

In addition to the Logitech Powerplay mouse mat, the company has also unveiled two new gaming mice that will be compatible with it: the Logitech G903 and the Logitech G703. Both mice are upgrades over the G900 and G403 respectively and will include improved switches that will last longer and a new optical sensor, along with compatibility with the Powerplay technology.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Logitech Powerplay Wireless Charging System will be released in August 2017 where it will be priced at $99.99. The G903 and G703 gaming mice will be sold starting in June 2017 and are priced at $149.99 and $99.99 respectively.
