Earlier this month Motorola announced the latest handset in the Moto Z lineup in the form of the Moto Z2 Play. Given its specs, the Moto Z2 Play is a pretty decent phone but not what one might consider as flagship material, but then again many were expecting the Moto Z2/Z2 Force to be the flagship to begin with.

Unfortunately the Moto Z2 itself has yet to be announced, but we could be getting close as the handset has allegedly been spotted at GFXBench. According to the specs found on the benchmark website, the Moto Z2 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, presumably the Snapdragon 835.

We’re also looking at 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, an 11MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat as its operating system of choice. No word on battery size and other features, but presumably given that it is part of the Moto Z lineup, it will also play nicely with the Moto Mods accessories.

At this point in time it’s really hard to tell when the phone will be announced. Some are speculating that maybe it could be announced alongside the Moto X4 which will be towards the end of the month on the 30th of June, so check back with us in a couple of days to see if there is anything new to share.
