Fans of the long-running Need for Speed franchise will be delighted to find out that Electronic Arts has announced a new addition to the franchise. It’s called Need For Speed Payback and it’s being developed by Ghost Games. EA is planning to release Need for Speed later this year for major platforms.

EA has confirmed that Need For Speed Payback is going to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on November 10th across the globe. This is going to be the first new NFS title since 2015 when EA rebooted the franchise with the game that was simply called Need for Speed.

This is the third NFS game in a row from Ghost Games which has previously worked on 2013’s Need for Speed Rivals and 2015’s Need for Speed. It’s clear that inspiration has been drawn from the Fast and Furious movie series for this title.

Players will be able to drive as three different characters in campaign mode – Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman. The characters have teamed up to get their revenge on The House which is a cartel that controls the criminal rackets in the fictional city of Fortune Valley.

EA claims that players will see plenty of “intense heist missions, high stakes car battles, epic cop pursuits and jaw dropping set pieces,” which makes it evident that inspiration has been drawn from the Fast and Furious series.

Ghost Games previously confirmed that a single player experience will be playable offline and that the open-world environment and car customization will both be enhanced.

EA Access and Origin Access subscribers will get early access to the title on November 2nd and they will be able to play the game for ten hours. Those who purchase the game’s $79.99 Deluxe Edition get three days of early access among other goodies.

Need for Speed Payback can now be pre-ordered for $59.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
