Those who own the Nextbit Robin smartphone will be delighted to find out today that there’s a new software update rolling out for their handset. The device was already updated to Android 7.0 Nougat a couple of months back and now it’s receiving an update to the latest version of Nougat. Nextbit has released Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the Robin.

Nextbit was actually acquired by Razer in January this year. Back then, Nextbit co-founder and CEO Tom Moss confirmed that the handset would continue to receive timely software updates and security patches from now until February 2018.

Despite the fact that the company’s CEO had confirmed to users that their handsets would receive updates in a timely fashion, many were of the view that the reality was going to be different, but so far they’ve not been let down.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat software update for the Nextbit Robin comes in at 560MB. The changelog mentions that it improves the overall performance and security of the device. The update also contains the Android security patch for the month of April 2017.

Those who have not yet received an over-the-air update notification on their device shouldn’t worry, it won’t be long before the notification pops up on their handset.
