One of the gripes that gamers had with the Nintendo Switch when it was launched was the way that Nintendo handled game save data. Basically all game save data is stored on the console, and there is pretty much no way of getting it out of the console, so in the event your console is spoilt and you want to transfer your data over, you can’t.

However the good news is that it looks like Nintendo has heard what gamers want and could be implementing a solution soon. In a post on the NeoGAF forums, it seems that some documents related to the Switch were leaked including the SDK, and in the leak it was revealed that Nintendo is working on a solution to save data transfers.

According to the document, it reads, “In the future, we plan to provide a feature to transfer account save data among multiple consoles. As a result, there is the possibility that user accounts with uninitialized account save data will be added. Note that your design must work without issue, even in this case.”

Exactly how this will be implemented remains to be seen, and also we have no idea when it will be implemented, but if this is something you think should have been included at the start, we guess you’ll just have to remain patient and keep an eye out for it.
