Grinding out experience points (XP) and levels in video games is pretty commonplace and while it can be tedious, it’s what one can expect and there’s really nothing you can do about it. However for Overwatch players looking to burn through some XP quickly, you’ll be pleased to learn that Blizzard will be having a double XP weekend from the 8-12th of June.

According to Blizzard’s announcement, this double XP weekend is part of their celebration of the game turning a year old. “It’s been an incredible year, and we’re so thankful you were a part of it. To celebrate our first Overwatch Anniversary together—and the community that made it all possible (that’s you!)—all players who log in this weekend on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One will receive double experience.”

Blizzard also announced that the double XP event will apply to in-game XP which includes time spent in a match, completing a match, completing consecutive matches, winning a match, backfilling a match in progress and earning medals. It will also stack with existing multipliers such as group or ICR bonuses.

Basically if you want to get as much XP as possible, then you’ll want to login this weekend. The event will run from the 8th of June at 5pm PDT and will end on the 12th of June at 11:59pm PDT.
