With the Nintendo Switch’s portability and the ability for wireless play with other Switch consoles, it seems that it would make the perfect platform for Nintendo to launch Pokemon on. In fact for a brief moment fans of the franchise were excited when the press release for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon mentioned the Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately for gamers, that will not be the case as it was simply an error. Nintendo has since clarified this with a press release via The Pokemon Company in which they state that the listing of the Nintendo Switch was made in error. “We would like to address rumours based on a clerical error on the Pokémon press site; Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS family of systems and are not due for release on Nintendo Switch.”

Now some of you guys might be thinking that the accidental listing could be a sign of things to come, and that maybe Nintendo let the cat out of the bag earlier than expected. Unfortunately you would be disappointed on that front as Nintendo’s press release also states, “This listing on the Pokémon press site was made in error and is not indicative of future plans.”

For fans of the Pokemon franchise, the closest thing you will get for now would be Pokken Tournament DX which is set for a release on the 22nd of September later this year.
