Samsung has a lineup of rugged tablets that it sells under the Galaxy Tab Active brand. The first tablet was launched three years back. The specifications were ordinary but it did feature dust and water resistance aside from being shock proof. According to a new report, Samsung is now developing the Galaxy Tab Active 2.

According to a new report, Samsung is working on two new variants of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 with model numbers SM-T390 and SM-T395. Like its predecessor, the new Galaxy Tab Active 2 is expected to be available in both Wi-Fi and LTE + Wi-Fi only variants.

There’s no word as yet about the specifications of this tablet. Given that the original Galaxy Tab Active had entry-level specifications, it can be reasonably expected that this is not going to be a high-end device in any shape or form.

The report suggests that Samsung is going to launch the new Galaxy Tab Active 2 in European and Latin American markets initially. It remains to be seen if the company decides to release it in other markets across the globe.

More information about the device’s specifications should appear in the days to come. Samsung is yet to say anything officially about the new tablet and the report doesn’t mention when Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy Tab Active 2.
