If you’re a lover of classic games and grew up playing games that are considered to be classics by today’s standards, then you might be interested to learn that SEGA has announced a new gaming service called SEGA Forever which they will be launching on both iOS and Android devices.

According to SEGA’s website, they have described the SEGA Forever service as being “a free and growing classic games collection of nearly every SEGA game ever released from every console era – Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and more. Available on iOS and Android mobile devices.”

The initial bunch of titles that will be available with this service includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone and Kid Chameleon, with plans to eventually add more games to the list over time. Note that SEGA Forever and the games will be free, with the catch being that gamers will have to put up with ads. However if you’d rather not deal with ads, not to worry as gamers can pay a one-time fee of $1.99 to unlock the ad-free version of the game.

There is support for offline play and Bluetooth controllers and leaderboards. SEGA Forever will be launched on the 22nd of June for both iOS and Android so check it out if this sounds like something you might be interested in.
