Recently additional details about the upcoming Sony movie “Venom” was revealed, and one of those details revealed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could make a cameo/brief appearance in the movie. The report claimed that Holland was not contractually obligated to appear, but he might anyway.

If you were hoping for that to be true, you might be disappointed to learn that it isn’t. In a report from Variety, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige basically shot down the rumors that Spider-Man would be in Venom. When asked if it was true, Feige answered simply, “No.” He added, “No, I think the folks there are making a great ‘Venom’ movie and I don’t know much about it, but I know they’re off to a good start with Tom Hardy.”

It is a pity since Spider-Man and Venom are usually at each other’s throats in the comics. The Venom movie will be starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and last we heard, Carnage is said to be the main villain in the movie which should be pretty awesome. The movie is currently set for a release in 2018, but no specific dates have been set.

As for Spider-Man, the new movie will be released next week and so far early reviews sound pretty promising.
