Last month Nintendo Japan announced that the Nintendo Switch would be getting new color options in the form of neon pink and green in line with the upcoming Splatoon 2 launch. However the announcement was made in Japan which means that we can’t be sure if it will be making its way to the US.

For those who were enamored by the new neon color options, you will be pleased to learn that Nintendo of America has since announced on Twitter that gamers will be able to get their hands on the new color options. The bad news is that based on the announcement, it looks like the new color option is only for the Pro Controller.

This means that if you were hoping to get your hands on the neon green or pink Joy-Cons, for now it seems that their availability stateside is still a bit of a mystery. However with the launch of the Pro Controller, we guess it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that the neon Joy-Cons will also be available at a later date, or maybe at the same time.

According to Nintendo’s announcement, the Splatoon 2 themed Pro Controller will be available on the 21st of July, which is also when Splatoon 2 will be launched for the console.
