It has been a while since Google released Android 7.0 Nougat. While some compatible devices have since released the Nougat update, there are many left that have yet to be updated. Samsung has released said update for many of its handsets but in some regions, the updates have been held up. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have received Nougat elsewhere but T-Mobile subscribers in the U.S. have been made to wait. They will finally get their handsets on this major Android update this week.

T-Mobile has already released Android 7.0 for the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It sent out this update at the end of April so it’s about time that the company released this update for the Galaxy S6 models as well.

T-Mobile’s @askdesk has confirmed on Twitter that the carrier is going to release Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge later this week. All required technical approvals have been obtained so it’s only a matter of rolling out the update.

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners on T-Mobile will soon get a taste of Nougat as well. They’ll find that it comes with a handful of new features, including but not limited to an improved Doze mode, enhanced notifications experience, user interface tweaks, and much more.
