There are many services out there that will deliver a prepared meal kit to your place so that you just take out all of the prepared ingredients and get cooking. Blue Apron happens to be one of those services. They better brace for stiff competition because it appears that Amazon is looking to make an entry into this segment. It’s the next logical step in Amazon’s objective to corner the grocery market.

Amazon’s foray in the grocery business started off on a very small scale. Over the years, it has launched services like AmazonFresh and Pantry. It has even opened its first drive-through grocery store.

That’s not all, the company recently announced that it was spending almost $14 billion to acquire Whole Foods.

According to a report published today by The Times, Amazon has registered a slogan that says “We do the prep. You be the chef.” The application for the registration explains that the service is going to provide “prepared food kits” which will be ready for assembly as a meal.

It’s unclear at this point in time what Amazon will end up calling this service and precisely when it’s going to be launched.

Only the company knows where this service will be launched first and what the prices are going to look like. Hopefully, it will reveal that information in the near future.
