AMD unveiled its high-end, multi-core Threadripper processor lineup back in May this year. At that point, the company didn’t reveal too many details about its new premium processors and it didn’t even reveal how much they were going to cost. All of that crucial information that AMD fans have been keeping their fingers crossed for has been confirmed today.

AMD is going to release its Threadripper lineup with two models. The Ryzen Threadripper 1920X has a 3.5 GHz base speed with 12 cores / 24 threads. The speed can boost up to 4.0GHz. It costs $799.

The Ryzen Threadripper 1950X is the flagship model. Priced at $999, it has a base speed of 3.4GHz with 16 cores / 32 threads. The clock speed can also be boosted to 4.0GHz.

As is the case with AMD’s other Ryzen chips, both of the aforementioned models are unlocked so customers will be able to overclock them as they require.

AMD’s new high-processors are cheaper in comparison to Intel’s recently unveiled Core i9 lineup. The Core i9-7920X is roughly comparable to the AMD Threadripper 1950X and it costs $400 more, Intel is charging $1,199 for this processor.

AMD has confirmed that these new Threadripper chips are going to be available for purchase early next month. Some new motherboards that have support for these chips are also going to be released around the same time.
