If the Assassin’s Creed movie failed to impress you, perhaps the anime series will win. If you just like watching anime then this might interest you as well. An Assassin’s Creed anime series has been confirmed. Ubisoft has brought in the producer of Netflix’s Castlevania to present this long-running franchise in an entirely different medium. It will certainly be interesting to see how this all turns out.
Producer Adi Shankar confirmed on Facebook that after Netflix’s Castlevania, the Assassin’s Creed anime series will be his next project. He mentioned that Ubisoft approached him to create an “original story.” That’s all he has revealed about this project so far.
It’s unclear what direction he will take with the anime series and how much of a link it will have with the storylines that we’ve seen in previous Assassin’s Creed games. There will be a rich history for Shankar to choose from, considering the fact that the franchise has nine core titles aside from 17 different spinoffs.
Ubisoft might end up having better luck with the anime series seeing as how the movie turned out to be a flop. The Assassin’s Creed movie didn’t really get raving reviews at launch. It only made $54 million in the United States so even if Ubisoft had been thinking about a sequel, it would have probably reconsidered one after the performance of the first movie.
