There’s a new Call of Duty title that’s going to be released later this year for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Call of Duty: WW2 was never really confirmed for the Nintendo Switch but the developer also didn’t specifically say that the title wasn’t going to be released for Nintendo’s new console. Well, now it has. Call of Duty: WW2 is definitively not going to be released on Nintendo Switch.
When previously asked, developer Sledgehammer Games had said that it currently had “no plans” to release a Nintendo Switch version of the new Call of Duty game. However, it’s the latest comment on the matter is going to shut the door entirely on this possibility.
Sledgehammer was asked about a Nintendo Switch version of Call of Duty: WW2 during a recent AMA session on Reddit. The developer responded with a curt “No” to the question. This should leave no doubt about CoD: WW2’s future on the Nintendo Switch, basically there isn’t one.
The developer’s boss Michael Condrey has previously said that the decision to not release a Switch version of this game was made by “business guys” over at Activision. This isn’t the first new Call of Duty iteration to skip a Nintendo version.
The last CoD title that was released for one of the company’s consoles was Call of Duty: Ghosts which made its way to the Wii U back in 2013.
