For those who have been following the indie game scene, you might have heard of a game called “Cuphead” which was announced several years ago. In case you haven’t, you can check out the trailer for the game above which features hand drawn graphics in a style reminiscent of cartoons from back in the day.

The game, which is being developed by Studio MDHR, was previously announced for the Xbox One and PC with no mention of the PS4. This led to some wondering if it could be an exclusive, or if perhaps there could be a chance of the game finding its way onto the PS4 later. Unfortunately that will not be the case.

In a post on the NeoGAF forums, the developers have confirmed the Xbox One exclusivity. “Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after). There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever).”

It is rather unfortunate given that the game looks incredible, which means that PS4 gamers will be missing out unless they don’t mind purchasing and downloading the game for their PCs. It also pretty much rules out any possibility of it arriving on the Nintendo Switch. That being said, Cuphead is currently set for a release on the 29th of September.
