If the Westworld-like Star Wars Hotel wasn’t enough to get you excited, Disney has also announced at its D23 expo in Los Angeles that it’s working with Lenovo on an immersive Star Wars experience that’s going to be powered by virtual reality. Players will be able to play HoloChess with characters from the movie and even take part in thrilling lightsaber battles.

Any Star Wars fan worth their salt has always wanted to take part in a lightsaber battle so this will certainly be a dream come true for many.

Disney and Lenovo are developing the Star Wars Jedi Challenges VR system which comprises of a lightsaber controller that’s paired with a special virtual reality headset. The headset itself is like just another mobile VR viewer as it will require a smartphone to be docked in the front.

No further details have been made available at this point in time so it’s unclear when this dedicated headset is going to be released and how much it’s going to cost. It’s also not known whether users will be able to play other games and consume their own media content in VR with this headset.

The kind of apps that will be offered for this Star Wars VR experience have not yet been confirmed as well. All of this information will be revealed in the coming months.
