It has been a few weeks since we started hearing rumors about the LG G6 Mini. LG came out with the LG G6 earlier this year and it was rumored recently that perhaps the company could soon launch a mini variant of its 2017 flagship smartphone. Subsequent reports suggested that the new handset might actually be called the LG Q6. Not only did LG confirm that via its invite for the press event tomorrow, but it has also released a teaser which confirms the aspect ratio of the LG Q6’s display.

This is going to be the first mid-range smartphone from LG to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display. LG is seeking to capitalize on the gains that it has made with the LG G6 by slapping the “FullVision” branding on the LG Q6’s display.

As far as the design itself is concerned, the LG Q6 is likely going to borrow design elements from the LG G6. That’s not necessarily a bad thing given that this year’s flagship from LG looks rather nice.

LG hasn’t confirmed much about the handset’s specifications but it’s said to include a 5.5 inch Full HD display, a single wide-angle camera at the back, an aluminum frame as well as a “one hand operation” mode.

No word as yet on pricing and availability information for the LG Q6 but we’re likely to find that out tomorrow when the company formally unveils this handset.
