You might have heard that over in Japan, arcade gamers will soon be able to experience Mario Kart in virtual reality. This isn’t some kind of modified version of Mario Kart, but it appears that this is a version of the game designed specifically for VR. Now a new trailer of the game has been released which gives us a better idea of what to expect.

Earlier the video that was shown off only gave us a glimpse at the upcoming game, but this new trailer video pretty much shows us everything. Basically players will be put into a first-person perspective and with motion controllers, they will be able to toss their items at other players to impede their progress, much like you would in the normal game.

It also offers up a sense of scale, like how big the mushrooms are, or how huge the castle really is, and so on, which should make for a rather interesting experience. Unfortunately it seems that for now the version of the game is limited to Japan where they’ll be available at Bandai Namco’s VR Zone arcades.

However Nintendo Everything is saying that these arcades are also expected to find their way to London, but beyond that we’re not sure if there are plans to bring it to other parts of the world, although we suppose it would be really cool if they did.
