For the most part, phones sold in one country do not differ too greatly from the same phone being sold in a different country. Perhaps there will be some variants when it comes to radio frequency, but other than that what you see is what you get. However if you are eyeing the new Nokia 6, note that there will be some changes.

HMD Global has confirmed that the Nokia 6 for global markets will not be shipping with the notification LED. This basically means that every market outside of China will not have the notification LED, and apparently according to HMD, this is due to research which suggests that perhaps not everyone really cares about the feature too much.

“When it comes to your inquiry about the removal of LED from the global version, please be aware that in regards to global markets, due to specific research, a decision has been made about the removal of the LED.” In case you’re wondering, the notification LED is an external LED that will blink when users receive a notification on their phone.

This is versus users having to turn on their device’s screen in order to see if they’ve received a notification, which is admittedly more efficient. It’s not exactly a deal-breaker, but suffice to say that there will probably be some disappointed customers.
