There’s only so much story-telling that one can do in a game without it straying too far from the actual gameplay, which is why we’re starting to see developers look at alternative means of filling in the gaps, such as through animated shorts and comics. In fact Bethesda is looking to do the same with “The Evil Within” with a comic series.

Teaming up with Titan Publishing, it looks like fans of the franchise can look forward to a comic series that will bridge the gap between the first game and its sequel. Set for a release on the 6th of September, the description reads, “Sebastian Castellanos does not lead a very charmed life. His family has been torn apart, all of his friends are either dead or missing, and he’s currently ‘between jobs.’ Oh, and he got thrown into a hellish nightmare world and no one will believe his story, which has driven him just a little bit crazy.”

The series will be written by Ryan O’Sullivan and will also feature art by Damien Worm and Szymon Kudranski. For those unfamiliar, The Evil Within is a brand new franchise that was originally launched in 2013 by Shinji Mikami, who some gamers might be familiar with as the creator of Resident Evil.

The Evil Within 2 was officially announced at E3 last month and is currently set for a release on the 13th of October, 2017.
