Towards the end of 2016, the folks at Naughty Dog announced Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The game is meant to be a standalone story chapter that basically gives players a bit more content from the Uncharted universe and also a slightly different perspective from the main game.

For those who are curious to learn more about the game and to see how it plays, you might be interested to learn that Sony has since released about 14 minutes worth of gameplay footage onto YouTube, which you can check out for yourself in the video above. The description reads, “In order to find an ancient Indian artifact, Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross must venture deep into the Western Ghats mountains, discover the lost cities of the Hoysala Empire, and face a ruthless warmonger, Asav.”

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is currently scheduled for a release on the 22nd of August for the PS4. Unfortunately for gamers, The Lost Legacy could probably be the last we’ll be seeing from the Uncharted franchise, at least for the foreseeable future. Naughty Dog’s co-president Evan Wells had previously revealed in an interview that it is unlikely that the studio will be doing another Uncharted game after this.

Wells does not completely shut the door on the possibility as he says “never say never”, but perhaps until Naughty Dog has more concrete plans, fans of the franchise should probably not hold their breaths. In the meantime an Uncharted movie is in the works so we guess fans can look forward to that as well.
