One of the reasons why online shopping is so popular is the fact that you can shop from just about anywhere. You can shop while on the go, while sitting on the toilet, while eating, and have it all delivered to your home when it’s all said and done. So what if you were chatting halfway with a friend on a messenger platform and could buy something on the spot? Is that something you might be interested in?

Apparently Viber thinks that it might as the company has recently acquired Chatter Commerce. For those unfamiliar with Chatter Commerce, they are the developers behind mobile shopping keyboard app ShopChat. If you haven’t heard of ShopChat, it is an app that basically replaces the keyboard on your phone with access to the inventory of a variety of retailers.

This means that whenever you feel like it, you’ll be able to access a store and purchase something directly within the keyboard itself, as opposed to having to launch your browser or a separate app to make your purchase, thus increasing the convenience which in turn could encourage users to shop more.

Viber has since integrated ShopChat’s technology into its app and according to the company, about 30% of its users in the US have already used the feature since the launch. We’re not sure if this is the best way to do your shopping, but you cannot deny that it is convenient.
