Have you ever sent a message that you regret and wish you could take it back? Certain messaging apps such as BBM will allow you to recall a message, and earlier this year it was reported that WhatsApp could be getting a similar feature as well. The initial report was in January and fast forward to today, July, the feature has yet to be launched.

However it seems that we could be getting closer. According to a recent tweet by @WABetaInfo, it looks like WhatsApp has been making some improvements to the feature which suggests that it could be close to going live. We’re not sure when exactly the feature will be launched, but hopefully the recent improvements is a sign that it is close to completion.

For those unfamiliar, WhatsApp’s recall feature will basically allow users to take back a message that has been sent. This might be useful if you sent a text to the wrong person and don’t want to bother explaining it, or if you sent something that you regret, like an angry message to a loved one that was sent in the heat of the moment.

It is unclear as to the extent of the recall feature and how many messages can be recalled at once, or if it is only for the last sent message, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
