It’s a bit difficult to keep track of all of the smartphones that Xiaomi releases in a single year. Most people just focus on the high-end stuff as that’s the most attention-worthy anyway. There have been rumors about a successor to the Xiaomi Redmi Pro. Word on the street now is that the handset has a 6 inch display and that it’s going to come with a whopping 8GB of RAM.

Xiaomi has reportedly assigned the codename ‘Chiron’ to the new handset. When the device comes out there’s a real possibility that it might be called the Redmi Pro 2.

According to reports, the handset is going to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor so you know that it’s going to be a high-end affair. The latest processor from Qualcomm is reportedly going to be coupled with 8GB of RAM.

It’s also said that the Chiron is going to have a 6 inch display that’s manufactured by Japan Display. Word on the street is that the display’s resolution will be 2,160×1,080 and that it’s going to have an aspect ratio of 18:9.

If that really is the case, this handset will also be adhering to the bezel-less design fever that’s gripping the Android smartphone market these days.

We’ll have to wait and see if that really turns out to be the case with the Redmi Pro 2.
