Ubisoft has without fail for the past few years released a new Assassin’s Creed title on an annual basis, save for last year where they skipped on it. However the company did announce earlier this year that the franchise will be back in the form of Assassin’s Creed Origins, and now during Gamescom 2017, they released the game’s cinematic trailer.

Note that prior to this we actually got a glimpse of the game via the gameplay trailer, so this cinematic trailer basically gives us a more storied look at the game. Assassin’s Creed Origins will be taking place in Egypt, and the trailer does a pretty good job of setting the scene up for players for when the game is eventually launched.

As for its release, last we heard Ubisoft confirmed the game’s launch for the 27th of October. The game will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC. There was no mention of the Nintendo Switch so for Switch gamers, you probably shouldn’t hold your breath for now. Maybe future Assassin’s Creed titles could find its way onto the platform, but for now it looks like Origins will be passing on it. In the meantime the game appears to be available for pre-order with a $800 Collector’s Edition for the more hardcore fans of the franchise.
