Recently the folks at Acer took the wraps off a new gaming laptop which by all accounts seems like it’s decent enough for gaming, but not necessarily the most powerful gaming laptop we’ve seen. However the upside is that it is relatively affordable, but if you’re after power and money isn’t really a concern, then HP might have something for you.

The company has recently announced its latest gaming laptop in the form of the HP Omen X. What makes this particular gaming laptop different from some of the competition is that it comes with support for an unlocked CPU which means that you’ll be able to overclock the CPU to go beyond its advertised speeds, assuming that’s your thing and assuming you know what you’re doing.

In terms of specs, we’re looking at an Intel 7700HQ or an 7820K processor and the laptop will support as much as 32GB of RAM. It will also come with choices of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070, and will also be able to support up to two 1TB NVMe SSDs and a 1TB HDD. The laptop will also be equipped with a bunch of fans and multiple heat pipes to keep it cool, which is a good idea considering how beastly it sounds.

In terms of price, HP says that the model that comes with a GTX 1070 will be priced starting at $1,199 but will go up to $3,699 if you were to fully spec it out.
