More often than not, companies based in a certain country usually gives their home country certain exclusives or bonus features when it comes to products and services, and Nintendo is no different. It seems that if you live in Japan and you want to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch, the customization options you have are pretty awesome.

Basically in the US and the rest of the world, the Nintendo Switch comes in two flavors: grey Joy-Cons or neon red and blue Joy-Cons. However like we said over in Japan, it is a completely different story. Basically gamers get to choose the color they want for their left and right Joy-Con, whereas in the US, the neon Joy-Cons are typically offered where the left controller is neon blue, and the right is neon red.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Japan allows gamers to customize their controllers anyway they want, and can even mix and match the new Splatoon 2 themed Joy-Con colors in neon green and pink. Gamers are also able to mix and match the Joy-Con straps where they don’t have to be limited to the same color.

Unfortunately the customization isn’t quite as extensive as Microsoft’s Xbox Design Lab, but given that the Switch is still fairly new, maybe there could be more options in the future. Also there is no mention of whether or not these customization options will ever find their way to the US, but it would be a pity if it didn’t.
