The latest Audio-Technica headphones promise what we’ve come to expect from the company’s flagship products. The Japanese company is aiming to take on the likes of the Sennheiser HD 800S and Focal Utopia with its latest headphones. As a consequence, the latest Audio-Technica headphones cost $1,999. Then again, that’s to be expected of a flagship product from this company.

Designed from the ground up, the Audio-Technica ADX5000 features new 58mm tungsten-coated drivers inside its ear cups that have a honeycomb pattern. The headband is coated in Alcantara covering for a comfortable wearing experience.

Each unit is assembled by hand in Tokyo and is laser etched with its unique serial number. These headphones require a powerful amplifier with its impedance of 420 Ohms. That is also to be expected from a deluxe audio product such as this.

Customers will also receive a case for their pricey headphones. It’s not just any other headphone case or pouch. It’s actually a piece of luggage. The ADX5000 comes with its own briefcase to secure carry the headphones in.

Audio-Technica is going to start selling its latest headphones from November for $1,999. Those attending the IFA 2017 convention next week will be able to try them out in Berlin.
