#IFA2017 – Dell today updated its XPS 13 lineup of notebooks with the latest 8th Generation Core processors from Intel. The Dell XPS 13 can now be configured with Intel’s latest quadcore Core i5 and Core i7 chips. Dell isn’t going to have all configurations in stock from the very first day, though.

Dell XPS 13 models (2017 – 8th gen Intel Core CPU) powered by the 1.8GHz Core i7 with speeds of up to 4GHz chip will be available starting September 12th. The company is going to start selling models of this notebook with the 1.6GHz Core i5 with speeds of up to 3.4GHz in October.

The company is yet to confirm what it’s going to charge for these new XPS13 notebooks that come with the latest processors from Intel. The existing XPS 13 models with Core i7 chips start at $1,349 so that’s a good reference point if you’re interested in purchasing the upcoming models.

Not much has changed as far as the design is concerned, then again, there was no need to. The XPS 13’s design was very well received last year so it appears that Dell has not tried to fix something that isn’t broken.

Intel’s new 8th Generation Core processors will also be available on notebooks in Dell’s Inspiron line. These new chips will be offered to customers who pick up 13 and 15 inch models of the Inspiron 5000 and 7000 2-in-1 as well as the standard Inspiron 7000. Dell Inspiron 7000 17 inch 2-in-1 gets the 8th Generation chips too.
