Several luxury brands have announced over the past few months that they will be coming out with their own Android Wear-powered smartwatches. Movado is one of them. The company is best known for its conventional fashion watches but it’s also following the smartwatch trend now by launching one itself. It has launched the Movado Connect luxury Android Wear smartwatch.

Movado’s design language, even with its conventional watches, has largely been minimal. Its watches normally don’t have a lot of buttons and the dials are kept clean and tidy.

We see that design language carry over to the Movado Connect Android Wear smartwatch as well. It’s actually one of the most minimal smartwatches on the market today.

The smartwatch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor with 512GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. It features a 1.39 inch 400×400 pixel resolution AMOLED display. Additional features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 300mAh battery.

It also has an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, mic, and NFC for Android Pay. It doesn’t have a heart rate sensor or GPS so those who want that functionality should look elsewhere.

Prices for the Movado Connect smartwatch start at $595. The price goes as high as $995 for the “ion coated” gold models. Movado is selling its smartwatch exclusively through its online store for now.
