Western Digital today announced the launch of its highest capacity external desktop storage system called the My Book Duo. It offers 20TB of storage to help users keep up with their growing content requirements. My Book Duo brings both extreme capacity and fast transfer speeds. The RAID storage system can quickly back up enormous amounts of photos, videos, music, and documents in one place while keeping users in full control of their content.

My Book Duo comes with RAID-optimized WD Red hard drives to deliver sequential reading speeds of up to 360 MB/s. The RAID-optimized firmware is onboard for two-disk array systems with auto management of drive operations.

It comes with a USB Type-C port with cables included so the My Book Duo is universally compatible as it supports USB 3.1 Gen 1/3.0/2.0 out of the box. There are two extra USB Type-A hub ports that allow for additional accessories such as action cameras, drones, card readers, keyboards, mice, USB drives, or phone syncing and charging.

The My Book Duo storage system can be purchased in 20TB, 16TB, 12TB, 8TB, 6TB, and 4TB capacities with prices at $799, $599, $419, $329, $289, and $259 respectively. The storage system supports password protection and AES hardware encryption with Western Digital Security software built in.

All systems are protected by a three year limited warranty and are now available for purchase from wd.com in the United States as well as from select distributors and retailers across the globe.
