Acer today announced the launch of a performance-minded Chromebook aimed at education and business customers. The Acer Chromebook 11 C771 is the first Chromebook on the market to be powered by Intel’s 6th generation Core and Celeron processors. The chips are packed inside a rugged body and can get up to 13 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The new Acer Chromebook 11 C771 can be configured with 6th Generation Intel Core i5, Core i3, and Celeron processors. It has support for up to 4GB of RAM.

Acer promises extra-long battery life to aid education and business customers in productivity throughout the day. There will be C771T models on offer which feature a touchscreen, they promise up to 12 hours of battery life. The non-touchscreen C771 models promise up to 13 hours of battery life.

Acer has manufactured the new Chromebook 11 to Military Standard U.S. MIL-STD 810G so it’s quite durable. Moreover, the corner-shield structure and rubber bumpers around the display and keyboard provide additional protection. It’s capable of surviving drops from heights of up to 48 inches.

Connectivity options include a USB 3.1 Type-C port and two USB 3.0 ports. There’s also one HDMI port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD card reader and dual-band 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac/a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Prices for the Celeron-powered models start at $329.99 with touchscreen display and $279.99 without touchscreen display. Pricing for the Intel Core i5 and Core i3 powered versions will be confirmed later.
