If you grew up playing FPS titles like Quake, then there’s a good chance you might have heard of the latest installment in the Quake franchise in the form of Quake Champions which was announced back in E3 2016, and if you can’t wait to get your hands on it then you might be interested to learn that Bethesda has announced the game’s early access.Early access for Quake Champions will kick off on the 22nd of August. According to Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software, “The Early Access version of Quake Champions is, obviously, a work-in-progress, but represents a solid and robust version of the game, with four modes, 11 Champions, a variety of maps, and a thriving community of fans. Early Access will allow us to work closely with players to improve the game and add additional features before the official launch of Quake Champions in the coming months.”
However before you get too excited, know that early access is something you’ll have to pay for. In order to gain early access, you will have to purchase the Quake Champions “Champions Pack” which will unlock all of the champions in the game, future champions that will be released, loot chests, and also an exclusive early access skin in the form of the Ranger character.
We should note that Quake Champions is a free access game, meaning that you don’t have to pay to play it. However playing for free will limit you to using just one character, but if you’re fine with that then we guess by all means go ahead.
