T-Mobile is looking to revamp the cellular experience for senior citizens in the United States so it has announced a new plan today called the T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+. As the name suggests, this plan is only for those aged 55 and up. It offers two lines of unlimited data for $60. That includes all applicable taxes and fees.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere says that the T-Mobile One Unlimited 55+ plan has been developed with senior citizens in mind. It aims to provide them with a proper cellphone plan equipped with unlimited data and more compatible with modern devices.

In true Magenta fashion, the carrier doesn’t miss an opportunity to take a jab at rival AT&T, which offers a $29.99 per month per line plan called Senior Nation. It’s for customers over the age of 65 and offers 200 anytime minutes, 500 night and weekend nights, and unlimited calling to AT&T customers. The plan isn’t of much use if the subscriber has a smartphone.

On the other hand, T-Mobile’s new mobile plan for senior citizens brings them into the digital age. They will not only get unlimited calling and texting but also unlimited data. This means that they will be able to use their modern smartphones properly and take advantage of all of the internet-connected features that they have to offer.

T-Mobile customers will be able to subscribe to the carrier’s new Unlimited 55+ plan starting August 9th.
