Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL owners on Verizon should keep their eyes peeled for an update notification today. The country’s largest mobile carrier has started rolling out the latest and greatest iteration of Android to the handsets. Android 8.0 Oreo is now being rolled out by Verizon for the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL.

Google has always sold its Pixel smartphones directly to customers. Many chose to buy it straight from the company itself because they knew Google would release new updates to them first. Moreover, Verizon isn’t really known for being quick with software updates.

Verizon seems to be approving updates for Pixel handsets at a faster pace because Android updates for the Pixel and Pixel XL on its network arrives merely days after Google releases them.

That’s also the case with Android 8.0 Oreo. Google started rolling it out to Pixel and Pixel XL handsets just a few days back. Verizon has now updated its support pages for both handsets to confirm that it’s rolling out the firmware update.

The update that it’s rolling out also includes the latest August security patch. Pixel and Pixel XL owners on Verizon can expect to receive an over-the-air update notification on their handsets in the very near future if they haven’t already.
