Apple’s original video content division has been making moves recently to shore up the company’s original video offerings. It appears that Cupertino wants to scale up these efforts as a new report claims that the company’s original content division might be setting up shop in Hollywood. Apple is reportedly in discussions to move this division to Culver Studios in Hollywood.

Culver Studios has a long history in Hollywood. It has 13 soundstages that are suitable for both feature films and TV shows. Despite that, Apple is apparently looking to move its original video content division to Culver Studios for office space.

The Financial Times reports that Apple is looking for office space for its original content division at Culver Studios. The iconic studio was previously owned by titans of the industry like Howard Hughes and Cecil B. DeMille

Apple has set aside a lot of money for its original content ambitions, it’s believed to be around $1 billion. It recently hired two former Sony Pictures Television executives Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg to head its production of original TV shows. Apple is reportedly looking to create a dozen original TV shows.

Apple’s budget for original content is far below the $6 billion that Netflix will be spending on original content this year. However, it goes without saying that Apple will increase this budget gradually once one or more of its original shows end up being hits.
