During PAX West, Tek Syndicate managed to get the chance to speak to Bethesda’s marketing and PR vice president, Pete Hines, where during the interview it seems that Hines accidentally let slip (via Dot Esports) that the company had a new unannounced title that would be launched by the end of the year. He was quoted as saying, “We have a ton of stuff going on, and we even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anybody about yet.”
This was in response to Tek Syndicate asking about a sequel for Skyrim, in which Hines confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 will eventually happen, but that the company had a couple of major titles that they had to work on first before the game can even begin development. Hines declined to comment further as to whether the new title is for an existing IP or a brand new one.
When pressed further about it on Twitter, Hines tried to downplay it. In any case we guess we will just have to wait to find out for ourselves, although right now it really is anyone’s guess as to when that might be.
