#IFA2017 – The problem with drones is that their flight times tend to be quite short, and not to mention they are incredibly noisy due to the blades whirring. However DJI is hoping to solve that with their latest announcement at IFA 2017 where the company has taken the wraps off a new drone called the Mavic Pro Platinum.

If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because last year DJI launched the Mavic Pro which is a smaller and portable/foldable drone. For the most part we’re not sure if the Platinum can be considered a true successor, but it does come with a couple of upgrades the drone owners might be interested in, such as a 11% gain in flight time and also a 60% reduction in noise.

According to DJI, this is accomplished by using electronic speed controllers and new propellers, and unfortunately it seems that these improvements will cost customers a little bit extra. The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum is currently available for pre-order via DJI’s website where it is priced at $1,099 which is about $100 more than the Mavic Pro.

However if the new platinum finish, slightly longer flight time, and the reduction in operational noise is worth it to you, then you could consider pre-ordering it.
