Recently we have heard rumors that Google could be working on a smaller version of the Google Home that would compete with devices like the Echo Dot, and recently leaked photos have seem to have provided us with evidence of such a device. However it also seems that Google could have another set of Google Home speakers in the works.

In a report from 9to5Google, they have heard from their sources that Google has a set of higher-end speakers in the works called the Google Home “Max”. Unlike the current Home speakers, the “Max” speakers will offer up stereo sound and will apparently be “premium” in both the design and choice of materials.

However it is unclear as to how far along these alleged speakers are in terms of development, and whether or not it could be making an appearance alongside the other devices at Google’s 4th of October event. So far the event is expected to unveil the new Pixel phones, the Google Home Mini, a new Daydream VR headset, and also a new Pixelbook Chrome OS laptop.

If it were we expected we would have seen the leaked photos as well, but either way take it with a grain of salt and check back with us next week for the details.
