HP Elite x3 Sales Won’t End Until 2019

It was reported recently that HP was thinking about ending sales of its Windows-powered productivity behemoth the Elite x3 in November this year. The report didn’t take many by surprise as there has been a general lack of interest from partners to build Windows 10 Mobile-powered devices. However, HP isn’t giving up on the Elite x3 just yet.

The report earlier today claimed that HP would stop selling this device from November 1st. The company was expected to keep supporting it until October 2018 so it would have supported it for two years after launch had HP been thinking about ending sales in November.

HP has confirmed that it’s not going to end sales of the Elite x3 in the near future. In a statement provided to Neowin, HP said that it’s planning to sell the Elite x3 “through 2019.”

“We remain committed to our mobility strategy and vision and will sell the Elite x3 through 2019 while continuing to enhance our portfolio delivering multi-OS devices, accessories and workflow transformation solutions,” a spokesperson for the company said.

Granted that it’s always possible for companies to change their decisions and HP has that option as well. At least it’s confirming that in the short term, it has no plans of ending sales of the Elite x3.
