There has already been a lot of speculation about the iPhone 8’s price. It’s expected to be the most expensive iPhone model ever. It’s also likely to be the first smartphone from Apple to feature an OLED display. If a new report is to be believed, the iPhone 8 price is going to range between $999 and $1199.

It’s no longer uncommon for high-end flagship smartphones to cost more than $1000. They’ve been gradually inching towards the $1000 mark over the past couple of years.

Take the Galaxy Note 8 for example. The 64GB variant costs just under $950. In markets where the 256GB variant is being sold, it’s priced at over $1100.

Benjamin Geskin, a permanent fixture in the Apple rumor mill, cites someone who works at Apple as his source for this information. He claimed that the 64GB iPhone 8 is going to cost $999 while the 256GB and 512GB variants will cost $1099 and $1199 respectively.

He’s not the first person to claim that the iPhone 8 is going to cost a dollar under $1000. We’ve actually been hearing this price point for a few months now and the rumor mill is more or less convinced that this is what Apple will charge for the iPhone 8.

Whether or not that ends up happening remains to be seen. We shall find it out soon enough, though, as Apple has confirmed a press event for September 12th. It’s going to unveil the new iPhones then.
