Apple has yet to officially announce their new iPhones, which means that we have no idea when they will be made available. However in the meantime it seems that there are reports that suggests that the iPhone X could be delayed and might not be released alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

It is unclear as to what the problem might be, but some are suggesting that it could be due to the OLED displays in which Apple is asking Samsung to separate the display and the touch panel, which is additional work and could slow down the process, however a report from Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang has suggested that it could be the metal frame around the iPhone X that could cause the delay.

Unfortunately no additional details were provided about the reasoning behind this delay, but like most other analysts, Zhang still believes the iPhone X will be announced alongside the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, except that its release could be delayed to potentially late October or even later, whereas the “standard” models should be released in a couple of weeks following their announcement as per Apple’s standard practices.

Of course it remains to be seen if that is really the case, but we should be able to find out for ourselves tomorrow. In the meantime some are saying that the delay could be bad news for Apple as it could mean that customers could jump ship to other brands because they don’t want to wait.
