When Google initially released Android 8.0 Oreo, the firmware update was released to devices that were currently enrolled in the Android beta program. When the update was launched to the public, it was made available to Pixel owners first. It hasn’t been confirmed when the Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X will receive the update but according to a new report, the Nexus 6P Android Oreo update might be released on September 11th.

Canadian carrier Rogers has updated its upgrade schedule which mentions that the Nexus 6P Android Oreo update is going to be released on September 11th. If that really is the case, this handset should receive Android 8.0 in other markets across the globe on the same day.

Google or the manufacturing partners that it worked with for these devices are yet to confirm when they will receive the Oreo update. Reports suggest that Huawei and LG have to tweak the radio firmware on Oreo before the update can be rolled out to the last two handsets of the Nexus lineup.

Hopefully, the company will confirm in the near future when the Nexus 6P Oreo update is going to be released. It also hasn’t said anything about this update for the Nexus 5X as yet.
