About a week ago Apple confirmed that its next OS update, macOS High Sierra, would be released to Mac users on the 25th of September. One of the features of macOS High Sierra would be a new version of Safari, but the good news is that if you wanted to take the new Safari for a spin, you can now do so.
Apple has recently released Safari 11 for both macOS Sierra and El Capitan computers, meaning that users will not have to update to High Sierra to take advantage of Safari 11’s new features. These new features includes improvements to user privacy in which cookies can no longer track users across multiple websites, improved compatibility, security, and more.
It will also come with a feature that will stop media from automatically playing on most websites, so if you hate websites that autoplay video and audio and aren’t a Chrome user or have third-party extensions installed, then this is a feature that you might be able to appreciate. The update is now live via the Mac App Store so head on over for the update if you haven’t done so already.
Like we said Safari 11 is part of the macOS High Sierra update so if you want, you could always wait until then to check it out. The update to High Sierra is free anyway and will introduce a bunch of improvements and new features as well, so that could also be worth taking a look at.
